Support Pisgah Mountain Trail Riders

Have you checked out the Fort Hill or Ashuelot rail trails in the Hinsdale, New Hampshire area? These beautiful rail trails are maintained by the Pisgah Mountain Trail Riders (PMTR), a local volunteer-driven snowmobile club.

The Pisgah Mountain Trail Riders is a volunteer-based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that maintains the Fort Hill and Ashuelot rail-trails in Hinsdale, NH which are used year-round for walking, biking, running, equestrian riding, and winter activities, such as snowmobiling, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing.

Pisgah Mountain Trail Riders was established in the late 1960s by friends and acquaintances in Hinsdale, NH to gather permission from area landowners to use and improve existing trails and create new ones, primarily to enjoy their snowmobiles.

People who use these trails for biking, walking, horse-back riding, snowshoeing or cross-country skiing also benefit from the grooming and maintenance work these club members do. Many people who are not snowmobilers but who use the trails for these other uses support clubs like the Pisgah Mountain Trail Riders with an annual donation or membership.

This year, in addition to all the usual expenses of trail maintenance, PMTR needs to raise extra funds to remove two dozen trees that are in jeopardy of falling on their clubhouse, groomer, and tractor. The tractor is used by volunteers to mow the rail trails spring to fall. They already had one tree blow over that caused damage to the roof and clubhouse.

If you appreciate the great work this volunteer organization does maintaining the Fort Hill Ashuelot and Rail Trails, please consider donating, joining, or even more fun, buying a raffle ticket to their annual raffle fundraiser.
