Bike-Walk Alliance of New Hampshire is hosting a series of free informal ZOOM call sessions on interesting and fun topics related to biking & walking in New Hampshire!

Although these sessions are FREE, you must register on EventBrite to attend. 50 participants per session will be accepted.

  • Rail Trail Challenge Update — Tuesday, February 20th, 2024, 7:00pm to 8:30pm — Hear from one of the organizers of the project, Marianne Borowski, who will discuss the origin of the challenge concept and why it is important for trail advancement in New Hampshire. We will also hear from folks like John and Elaine Egolf who completed the New Hampshire Rail Trail Challenge on bicycles this past summer. John and Elaine are quite active in the outdoors and are accomplished hikers finishing many hiking challenges including “New England’s 100  Highest” peak challenge. John and Elaine got into cycling in 2018. After a few misadventures, they discovered New Hampshire’s Rail Trails and fell in love with them. They shared their  personal stories from the experiences and challenges encountered along their journey to complete the New Hampshire Rail Trail Challenge.  If you have been thinking about completing this challenge yourself, or just want to learn more about New Hampshire’s rail trail system, please join us for a virtual presentation that is sure to be informative and motivational.  Click here to access the recording of this event.
  • Bicycle Recycling in New Hampshire — Wednesday, December 6th, 2023, 7:00pm to 8:30pm — Learn about the amazing work being done by Bicycle Recycling Organizations around the state.  These non-profit organizations accept donations of used bikes & bike accessories. Volunteers refurbish, rebuild, & distribute used bikes to people who need them for little or no cost. Learn how you can help keep perfectly usable bikes & bike parts out of landfills\dumpsters & get them to folks who need them.  Looking for a low-cost used bike to toodle around? Consider shopping at one of these great organizations. When you purchase a used bike from one of these organizations, the profits go directly to support their efforts. Also hear from local Trek Bicycle Shop rep about their Trek bike trade-in program and corporate sustainability efforts.  Click here to watch  the recording of this session.   • Dangerous By Design  —  Monday, December 13th, 2021, 6:00pm to 6:30pm — Captain Chris Buchanan, Amherst Fire Department, Educational Technologist with the NH Fire Academy & EMS, and chairperson of the Amherst Bicycle & Pedestrian Advisory Committee.  In this 1/2 hour Bike-Walk talk session, Chris will share his expertise of lessons learned from over a decade responding to motor vehicle collisions along route 101 in the Amherst, Milford, and Wilton areas, a corridor that has a 250% higher mortality rate than other corridors.  Learn about ways that some roadways are currently “dangerous by design” and the variety of methodologies can be applied to keep roads safer for all users.
  • Inclusivity in Biking & Walking\QC Bike Collective —  Tammy Zamoyski of QC Bike Collective, Wednesday Sept 22nd, 2021\7:30pm . Learn about the great work of the Queen City Bike Collective.
