NH Rail Trails Conference

The biennial New Hampshire Rail Trails Conference, hosted by the New Hampshire Rail Trails Coalition (NHRTC), will take place on Friday, October 27th, 9:00-4:00 pm, at the McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center (2 Institution Drive, Concord).  The theme of this year’s conference is “Collaboration, Communications and Connections.”

This full day conference will be in-person with a variety of presentations, break-out sessions, poster displays, and guest speakers from NH agencies and other Rail Trail organization leaders.  Lunch and morning and afternoon snacks will be provided. There will be time for networking and a follow-up off-site social is optional. Come to meet NH rail trail organization leaders and state officials to learn more about recent developments and exciting plans for the future of NH rail trails.

Topics to be covered:

• Follow the $$$: How are our rail trails funded?
• Unique Collaborations: Motorized and non-motorized rail trail organizations working together
• Let’s Share the Trails: Boots, Tires, Motors, e-Motors, Sleds, Skis, Snowshoes, Paws and Hooves
• Rails-to-Trails, Rails-With-Trails and Trails-Until-Rails?
• What is a RTP and a GIA Grant? Federal and State Grant opportunities
• What is the “Cycling Without Age” Program?
• A 1000 Mile New England Rail Trail Network vision (yup, it’s 50% done!)
