Multiple “INVEST in America Act” earmarks slated for New Hampshire

The US House of Representatives recently passed the INVEST in America Act as part of the Federal Surface Transportation Programs for 2022.  This includes Federal grants for pedestrian and bike safety improvements that also affect development of rail trails.  A call for potential NH projects was made earlier this year by our state’s US Representatives Annie Kuster and Chris Pappas.

Investing in a New Vision for the Environment and Surface Transportation (INVEST) is a $715 billion surface transportation and water infrastructure bill that will secure over $1.2 billion in highway funding and over $121 million in transit funding for New Hampshire. This represents a 34% increase in funding for roads and bridges in New Hampshire and a 25% increase in transit funding.  There are 23 New Hampshire projects earmarked in this bill. To see the list of the 23 New Hampshire projects, go to page 129 of the 1300+ page PDF of this bill (link above).

For more information, see what Representative Annie Kuster has to say by clicking here. See what Representative Chris Pappas has to say here. This is all great news for New Hampshire, and we are all very thankful to our Representatives Kuster & Pappas for their hard work in supporting this important federal level infrastructure bill.
