Bikes & Beers NH Recap

On Saturday, July 24th, 2021, New Hampshire weather held out and it was a perfect day for the Bikes & Beers New Hampshire event, held at the famed Smuttynose Brewery in Hampton, New Hampshire. This event is a popular “fun ride” that first appeared in New Hampshire in 2019. That first year, over 350 riders participated, with ride loops starting and ending at Smuttynose. In 2020, due to pandemic restrictions, the event transformed to a successful virtual event in September 2020.

In 2021, the event was back on as an in-person event with over 500 participants, with the familiar start & end location of Smuttynose, and scenic ride loops of 15, 30 and 45-miles.  As in 2019, perks included fully marked routes, SAG support, rest stop, after party, pint glass, beer tokens, live music, and a raffle. The day was a huge success.

A special thanks to all the volunteers who helped make this event so great. Volunteers included BWANH board members, staff, BWANH supporters, and folks from the general public.  Volunteers receive many perks, including free entry if you volunteer to be a “ride leader.” Volunteers also helped with registration, setup, rest stop, and cleanup.

A portion of the proceeds from this event go to Bike-Walk Alliance, and it is a great chance to provide some visibility for BWANH’s advocacy work. This year, the Queen City Bike Collective also helped out with advertising and with volunteers. Gus’ Bike Shop (North Hampton, NH) also helped out again providing onsite mechanical support and SAG wagon. Many thanks to all who helped out!
