Gear Libraries are a rapidly growing trend in the outdoor industry, and now the White Mountains has one of its own! Bethlehem Trails Association opened The Gear Library in February, the first of its kind in The White Mountains.
Gear Libraries offer an exciting opportunity for people and families to get access to the gear they need to enjoy time outside. Similar to a book library, members can check-out high quality outdoor gear, such as snowshoes, microspikes, and trekking poles for a few hours or the full day. Membership and rentals are free!
“We started the Gear Library because we want all people to have the opportunity to enjoy time outside and are excited to see The Gear Library growing so quickly!”
~Megan Schleck, founding member of the Bethlehem Gear Library
This summer the Gear Library will be adding toddler and youth balance bikes, helmets and infant backpack carriers to its inventory – all available to rent for free, thanks to a generous grant from Bike Borderlands and member donations.
