Bicycle Recycling Programs

The following organizations, most of which are non-profits, accept donations of new or used bicycles, bike parts, and some accessories. They also provide services that allow community members to purchase and repair bikes at an affordable cost. If you have bike(s) to donate, can volunteer your time to work on bikes, or are in need of a low-cost refurbished bike or bike repair, please contact any of these organizations.  Some of these organizations also monetary donations.

  • Bikes For Peace — Dublin, NH    Repairs, refurbishes and resurrects donated bikes, scooters and the like for distribution to individuals in need, including refugees, displaced persons and the unhoused via a number of Social Service organizational partners. Donations of bikes, parts, accessories etc. are all welcome. They are also looking for a few more volunteers to help with repairs, distribution, and space.   • Bike The North Country – Bike the North Country is a 501c-3 non-profit organization operating in New Hampshire’s North Country as a bike advocacy organization. One of their initiatives is to ensure everyone has access to cycling. They regularly requests old or unwanted used bikes be donated. They clean and fix them up and ensure when it’s donated back to someone in need through a school, Police Department, or local facility it’s in great shape.  Helmets are always included when giving someone a bike.   • Carroll County ReCyCled Bike Co-op — The Carroll County ReCyCled Bike Co-op aims to increase transportation options by accepting used bike donations, servicing them through local partnerships, and then re-distributing them for free to organizations and individuals in need.   • Dartmouth Bikes  — Dartmouth, NH
  • Gate City Bike Co-op — Nashua, NH
  • Queen City (QC) Bike Collective  —  Manchester, NH
  • Central New Hampshire Bike Coalition — Concord, NH In the greater Concord area, the Central NH Bike Coalition accepts bike donations all year long at S&W Bike Shop. CNHBC & S&W collaborates with other local bicycle recycling organizations (QC Bikes, etc), as well as other local community organizations, to get recycled bikes back in to the community.  Their 2 two annual Bike Swap are hugely popular events that make hundreds of recycled bikes available at low cost.   • Recycled Sports of New Hampshire — Seabrook, NH  This for profit organization fixes and sells used bikes and also hosts an annual Bike Swap with proceeds benefiting the Seabrook Rail Trail.
